I'm sorry. I am a fan of the earlier CD's but the samples for this one are leaving me with no interest in acquisition. The lyrics aren't catching; and the vocals are, I don't want to say strident, but I'm searching for the element that is missing. I hope Dido goes back into the studio and then gets the "man who wasn't there" to assist with the production/mix. Good luck. I was/am looking forward to new music. Thanks. |

How are you handling the situation of you album cover? I am a reporter and was informed that a local band in my area released an album in August with that as the album cover, which means that even though the photo was originally public domain via NASA, it is now subject to copyright laws.Since the band is local and has not even had a chance, they cannot afford the $70,000 to fight you for it, so now your fan will see the two different albums and think that they ripped the idea from you. After 2003's "life for rent" (..about 5 years),here comes Dido with her third offering..(i purchased it yesterday) the album "safe trip home".. the cover art is a nice concept.. a man in space, the earth... the man is alone.. maybe with a question, a fear.. and so does the words from the songs in this title convey... the beat is melodramatic.. Dido's work on the keyboards and the guitar is excellent! it's dido being older, more mature, more intense! ... you can feel the tale of regret on the 4th song "grafton street", the expression of longing and risk on "quiet times" and great music arrangement on songs such as "let's do the things we normally do" , "us 2 little gods" , "quiet times" and "burnin love" .. i found this record worth buying..(for me) and i recommend this to those who are die hard fans of Dido.. This album has a mark of its own... a precious gem that can be remembered forever... |

I bought "Safe Trip Home" on Amazon.com and it was near torture waiting for the release. However, it was well worth the wait. My absolute favorite song on the album is "The Day Before the Day". I just love the light guitar with your sweet soft voice. Thanks for producing such a wonderful album and keeping up to par with your prior work. I can't wait for your next big album. |
